Your Wedding Vows
Your wedding day vows are extremely personal, vital in essence to speak from your heart in expressing your emotions, sharing your dreams and wishes with your partner, holding space for your two souls at this most pertinent union in your commitment to each other. Whether you are speaking your vows together in a small elopement wedding ceremony, or in front of intimate party of family and friends, or even in front of hundreds of your wider circle of family, friends, work colleagues, from near and far, in a huge wedding celebration., everyone’s ears will be listening to the love you declare to each other at this time of union. Making this commitment to each other in front of how ever many witnesses, is once in lifetime scenario.
In Japan, they have a saying, ‘Ichi-go Ichi-e’ which means ‘one moment – one life’- ‘for this moment only’. A once in a lifetime experience! It is a philosophy deeply rooted in Zen Buddhism, highlighting the present moment.
This is your moment, the two of you, and on your very special wedding day, everything culminates in you exchanging your vows, prior to you exchanging your rings.
A sacred act of love, intention, commitment, promise.
I promise you, your words will be remembered by all, on your very special day, and etched within your hearts.
You may already have an idea of what you would like to say, perhaps you have planned your vows for some time, or you may – like a lot of couples, be so consumed in the details of the whole build up, excitement, choosing of dress, suits, wedding party attire, cars, flowers, décor, jewellery, meals, drinks, transport, invitations, confetti, wedding cake, honeymoon, and all the complex family dilemmas with guests, seatings, wedding music choices, times, dates, appointments, bookings, that the vows are the very last thing you will wish to take a lot at, right at the eleventh hour!
Let me take that task from you…
With an understanding of your love story, your two personas, upon our meetings leading up to your wedding day, I can magic up the correctly woven heartfelt words on your behalf. If you wish me to write your vows for you, please do, ask about this service, which is my gift to you, as part of your Wedding Ceremony Celebrant package. Of course, I can let you see the words, weeks prior to the wedding for you to approve, or amend to your approval, before your big day.
One of my engaged couples, asked me to write their vows, and both were delighted with all words, with one tiny request for an additional line from one of their favourite movies, the bride wished to include in her words at the very end. A personal touch, which brought a tender tear to her groom’s eye.
It’s up to you! Your choice, let me know if you’d like this service.
