I will never forget the very first wedding I officiated.

I had known the bride for several years through our writing groups, but meeting her fiancé and learning their love story together was priceless. I could see their connection in the smallest gestures — the way they laughed, the quiet way they looked at one another, the nervous joy that surrounded them.

On the day itself, something magical happened. As I began to speak the words I had woven for them, the whole room shifted. Sunlight streamed through the windows, guests leaned in, and the air seemed to hum with love. For a few precious minutes, it felt as though the world itself had paused to bless their union.

Their ceremony was joyous, soulful, and utterly unique — a blend of Shakespeare and Disney, complete with the bride sparkling in a pink sequined gown and a rainbow veil. Their vows, which I had helped them write in secret, landed like poetry in the hearts of everyone present. There were tears, laughter, and a hush that only true love can create.
